I’m so excited to be sharing with you all my behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week!! Living in New York I know how serious people can get so when I am backstage I love to have fun, get to know people and really understand the details behind the beauty! I teamed up with MAC cosmetics Chile to get you all the details from some of my favorite designers.
Today was an early start backstage at LACOSTE’s Fashion/Winter 2015 runway show. First things first was checking out what the MAC was working on...but to my surprise I discovered one of the Makeup artist was a dear friend of mine who I use for all my fashion photo shoots!! Next I got a one on one explanation of the concept and beauty details from Key MakeUp artist Mayia Alleaume! She explained the show’s theme which was a “Tennis Match in Winter” which meant they wanted to keep the face all natural meaning it was all about skincare. They were creating a chic and sporty look and were wanting to keep the personality of the models by letting them look natural. I have to say I really loved that LACOSTE + MAC did this! This was my first time backstage seeing natural models and it was refreshing! MAC used no foundation and stuck with mineral powder to keep away shine, they also used a clear mascara and lip balm!
Being backstage before and after the show was so much fun, I got models to dance with me (see the video on my snapchat: DESIGNMYHRTOUT) and after the show met with Joe Jonas and Les Twins (Beyonce’s incredible dancers) and got to listen to the LACOSTE designer himself talk about his collection which is incredible!! I lost count of how many items I wanted!
The clothes were all tailored so beautiful, it all looked comfortable and classic but with a modern twist. The theme “Renee Did It First” after Renee LaCoste was seen from the pamphlets left on all the seats during the show to the graphics on the clothes.
It was a very playful show..and I think it was because the models felt like themselves. Natural hair and makeup was very refreshing to see...I like to call it “perfecting naturalism!”
Stay tuned for some more shows coming up this week!
